Microsoft announced on Tuesday that it will launch the PC Game Pass Preview Program in 40 new countries, including nine Arab countries.
The American technology giant said that the preview of the game streaming service will give players instant access to hundreds of games, including those launched for the gaming platform (Xbox) via Xbox Game Studio on computers running the Windows operating system.
In addition to South America, the new markets where the game streaming service will offer previews include Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East.
Microsoft said that (PC Game Pass) subscriptions will be available to players in forty new countries through the Xbox Insider Hub application, and they can benefit from a special trial for the first month.
The company says new games are constantly being added to the library (PC Game Pass) and more titles will be available soon on (Xbox) and (Bethesda), including: Minecraft Legends, due April 18th. and Game (Redfall), scheduled for May 2nd, with more games to come.
"In the next few months, (PC Game Pass) will be available in these countries for all gamers to try," said Gerrit West, Director of Game Marketing at Microsoft, in a post on the (Xbox) blog.
The number of countries in which the service is available will be increased to 86 by offering a trial version (PC Game Pass) in 40 new countries as part of Microsoft's efforts to expand its subscription offering into new markets.
While Xbox CEO Phil Spencer warned last year of a slowdown in the growth of the Xbox Game Press (Xbox Game Pass) service, he said the company has seen "exponential growth on PC."
Microsoft said October PC Game Pass subscriptions were up 159% year over year, allowing the company to focus on expanding its presence in the PC market.
The new 40 countries are: Albania, Algeria, Bahrain, Bolivia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Costa Rica, Croatia, Cyprus, Ecuador, Egypt, El Salvador, Estonia, Georgia, Guatemala, Honduras, Iceland, Kuwait, Latvia, Libya, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg and Malta Moldova, Montenegro, Morocco, Nicaragua, North Macedonia, Oman, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Qatar, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Tunisia, Ukraine and Uruguay.
