Windows 11 allows users to customize colors, personalize the Start menu by moving and removing certain items, and adding new tools to the menu. It also allows adjusting the screen resolution and many other customization options that users can configure as per their liking. Below we explain how to customize the Start menu and more in Windows 11:
To customize the Start menu:
By default, the Windows 11 Start menu displays three rows of app icons at the top, the last opened file at the bottom, and the power button icon to the right of your account picture and name.
You can customize the Start menu by moving and removing specific items and adding new tools to the menu.
1- To change the position of the application icon in the start menu, click on the icon and drag it to the desired position.
2- To remove an app icon from the Start menu, right-click on the app icon or long press on the app icon and select (Unpin from Start). This will remove the app's icon from the list. This will not uninstall the app.
3- To add an application icon to the start menu, click on the All apps button in the upper right corner, click on the application icon and select the Pin to Start option.
4- To hide recent files from the start menu, you can follow these steps:
- Go to Settings (Settings).
- Click on Personalization Options and select Get Started.
- Deselect the option (Show recently opened items in start menus, jump lists, and file explorer) by pressing the Shift key next to it.
5- To remove new and used apps from the recommended section of the Start menu, click the toggle button next to Show recently added apps and Show most used apps options.
6- To change the color of the Start menu in Windows 11, you can follow these steps:
- Go to Settings (Settings).
- Click on Personalization Options.
- Click the Color option and choose a color from the available options on the Accent Color tab.
Additional options for customizing Windows 11:
Like the Start menu, many other aspects of Windows 11 can be customized, including:
1- To switch to dark or light mode, open Settings, tap Personalize, and choose Colors.
From the (Choose your mode) menu, choose a (dark) or (light) mode. You can also tap Customize to use one mode for the operating system and another for apps.
2- To add transparency effects to application windows, menus, and other parts of the operating system, you can follow these steps:
- I open Settings.
- Click Customize and choose Colors. And enable the transparency button that appears next to the (transparency) option.
3- To customize the overall look and feel of the operating system, you can choose one of the available themes. It is a collection of backgrounds and color settings. Choosing one of them will change the look of different aspects of Windows 11. To do that, follow these steps:
- Open Settings, then tap Personalization and select Themes.
- At the top of the screen you can manually set the appearance, eg B. Choose a new background image, cursor shape and sound.
- At the bottom of the screen, you can choose from other themes you've previously added or upload a new theme by clicking the Browse Themes button.
How to adjust screen resolution in Windows 11:
To adjust the screen resolution in Windows 11, right-click on the desktop and click Display settings, select Scaling and Layout, then click Display Resolution and select the resolution you want.
