1- Go to the Gmail website and log into your account.

2- Click on the settings icon that appears in the form of a cogwheel in the upper right corner of the screen, then click on the “Show all settings” option.

3- On the Tags tab, scroll down to the Tags section and click Create New Tag.

4- Enter the desired taxonomy name and click Create. If you want to add the new tab to an existing one, select Nested tabs under the option that appears below the new tab name, and then select the previous tab you want the new tab to go to.

You can edit or delete labels in Gmail at any time using the desktop version or the iPhone app.

In the desktop version:

  • 1- Click on the settings icon that appears in the form of a cogwheel in the upper left corner of the screen and select the “Show all settings” option.
  • 2- On the Tags tab, scroll down to the Tags section.
  • 3- Click on the category name to change it, type a new name and click on the enter or return key. Or click the Edit button that appears under the Actions tab.

  • 4- To delete a category, click on the Delete button that appears at the bottom of the Actions tab, and then click on Delete.

In the Gmail app on iPhone:

  1. Click the three-line menu icon next to the search bar in the upper-left corner.
  2. Scroll down and tap on the Settings option.
  3. On the next screen, select the email address you want to apply the changes to.
  4. On the next page, scroll down and select the Label Settings option in the Label section.
  5. Click the tag to edit or delete it.
  6. Click on the (Name) field to enter a new name, or click on the option (Delete ... then the name of the rating) to delete the rating.
