PDF is a Document Presentation Format developed by Adobe in 1993 and is an abbreviation for Portable Document Format. Files saved in PDF format take up less storage space and are easier to share. If you have a bunch of photos on your phone that you want to share with someone, it's a good idea to convert them to PDFs first. This way you can keep the sequence of images the same and move them easily multiple times.
iOS on the iPhone provides several ways to combine a series of images into a single PDF file, and there are third-party apps designed for this. Here are 4 easy ways on how to combine multiple images into one PDF on iPhone:
1- Merge images into a PDF file with the Photos application:
Apple's Photos app is not only for viewing photos, but also for editing, annotating, and printing photos right from your iPhone. It also allows you to combine multiple images into a single PDF file. To do this, first make sure that the images you want to include in the PDF are in the Photos app, then follow these steps:
- Open the Photos app on your iPhone.
- Navigate to the album containing the images you want to include in the PDF and select the images.
- Make sure to select the images in the order you want them to appear in the PDF.
- Click on the "Share" icon that appears at the bottom left and select the "Print" option.
- On the Print Options page, click on the Paper Size option and choose Large Image.
6. Click the Share icon again and choose Save to File.
7. In the Files app, select the folder where you want to save the PDF.
8. Click on the name displayed in the text box at the bottom of the screen and enter the appropriate name for the file.
9. Click the Save button to save the PDF file.
If you want to share this PDF, go to the Files app, select it and click the Share button. You can send via AirDrop or over the web using a messaging app or email.
2- Using the Files app:
When you use the Photos app to combine multiple images into a single PDF, you may see a white border around some of the images. To avoid this problem, you can use Apple's Files app instead of the Photos app.
If you use the Files app, you can combine photos that aren't available in the Photos app, eg those stored in iCloud or another cloud storage service. You can also create PDF files without affecting the quality of the images they contain.
To combine PDF images with files:
- Open the Files app.
- Navigate to the folder containing the images you want to include in the PDF.
- Click the three dots button in the upper right corner, click Select and choose the photos you want to combine.
- Click on the three dots button that appears at the bottom left and select the "Create PDF" option.
6- Click Finish to save the file.
After saving an image in the Files application, you can also combine the image in the Photos application from the Files application by selecting the image, then pressing the Share button, then (Save to file) and then selecting the part to be merged. Pictures are stored in the Files app.
3- With the Apple Books app:
The Apple Books app can read e-books and listen to audio books on iPhone, but few know that it can help combine multiple images into a single PDF document.
Like the Files app, the Books app combines images into PDFs while preserving image quality. How to use it:
- Go to the Photos app.
- Select the images to include in the PDF.
- Click the Share icon in the lower left corner and select Books from the list of suggested apps. If you don't see this option, scroll to the left, click the More button, and select Books.
- Books creates and saves a PDF.
- Open the Books app where you will find the PDF document.
Because items in the Books app sync with iCloud, PDFs you create using the Books app can also be viewed in the iCloud Drive section of the Files app. If you want to save it somewhere else, you can follow these steps:
- Open the Books app and tap the three dots button at the end of the file you want to transfer.
- Choose to share the PDF
- Select (Save to file) and specify the location to save
- Rename the file and click Save
4- Merge images into a PDF using a third-party app:
