What are the requirements to download the Samsung Camera Assistant app?
Samsung Camera Assistant One UI 5.1 is required. It works with a limited number of Samsung phones, which are:
- Samsung Galaxy S20, S21, S22 and S23 series phones.
- Samsung Galaxy Note 20 mobile phone.
- Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 mobile phone.
- Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 mobile phone.
- Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2, Z Fold 3, and Z Fold 4 phones.

Functions provided by the Camera Assistant app:
Once the app is downloaded, you can find a new set of options by opening the Camera app, tapping the gear icon in the upper left corner of the screen, then scrolling down and tapping Camera Assistant.
1- Auto HDR function:
This feature enables the camera technology (Auto HDR) automatically after downloading the application, and you can disable it by toggling the switch next to it in the settings menu.
This technology makes for great high-contrast photos because your phone takes multiple photos with different exposures and then combines the best elements of each photo into one, which is great for low-light shots.
2- Image blur function:
Image blur helps improve image quality and remove unwanted blemishes, and includes three options for fine control of image sharpness: Off, Medium (50%), High (100%). This feature is turned off by default, but you can turn it on and experiment to see if the result suits your photography style.
3- Auto Lens Switch Function:
The Auto Lens Switch function is automatically activated so that the camera automatically switches lenses. For example: the phone switches to the main camera and uses digital zoom instead of the telephoto lens in low light conditions.
4- The screen is blurry while recording:
If there is nothing in front of the camera while recording a video, the screen brightness will be dimmed automatically to save battery power when dim the screen while recording is enabled.
This feature is disabled by default; You can use it up to 10 minutes before starting work and choose the right time.
5- Speed control function to take pictures:
The (shooting speed) feature allows you to control the shutter speed when taking pictures, because with just one touch you can choose to take the picture as fast as possible, which results in fewer pictures and lower image quality. , or choose between speed and quality, or focus on quality at the expense of relatively slow image capture.
6- Quick click shutter feature:
The fast shutter feature is designed to take a photo as soon as your finger touches the shutter button, not after you lift it, as Samsung phones have a bit of a delay after you press the shutter button and take the actual photo.
This feature can not only solve the problem of shutter lag in Samsung mobile phones, but also greatly improve the camera experience. Long press or drag the shutter button to take photos or short videos. In this case, the camera also takes pictures.
But when this feature is enabled, the camera takes fewer pictures, resulting in lower image quality. This feature is disabled by default and you can enable it at specific times to use it.
7- Record video in photo mode:
Video recording in photo mode allows you to capture videos when you long press the shutter button in still photo mode. This feature is enabled by default and you can disable it in settings.
8- Change the number of photos taken in the self-timer mode:
The (number of photos by timer) feature allows you to specify the number of photos your phone camera will take when you set the timer. By default, the camera takes 1 photo in timer mode, but you can choose 3, 5 or 7 photos and change the interval between shots from 1 second to 3 seconds.
9- Camera timeout:
The camera timeout feature allows you to customize how long the camera turns off automatically after inactivity. The app automatically sets this function to 2 minutes, but you can change it to 1 minute minimum and 10 minutes maximum.
