Hidden Features of the Notes App on iPhone and How to Use Them

Most people use the Apple Notes app on their iPhone just to jot down ideas and notes. But this app is not just for taking notes, it has many useful but hidden features that many people may not have used. Including: the Quick Notes feature that allows you to write notes without leaving the application you are currently using, as well as the ability to collaborate with others to write ideas and notes on specific notes pages, and many other useful features that we will mention below:

1- Quick notes function:

Quick Notes lets you jot down ideas and notes without opening the Notes app and leaving the app you're working on. For example, if you get an idea while using Safari, or want to copy a link to a specific web page without closing your browser, you can launch Quick Notes to take notes while you're in Safari.

To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Go to (Settings) Settings, then to (Control Center).
  2. Click on the quick note option.

You can then pull down the Control Center bar, tap the Quick Note button, and a blank note will open at the top of the app you're working on so you can jot something down, and when you're done, go back to the app you were working on.

2- Features of scanning documents and texts:

Notes has a scanning feature that allows you to scan documents and text without downloading a document scanner app. To use the text analysis feature, do the following:

  1. Open a new note, then tap the camera icon and choose Scan Text.
  2. Point the camera at a document and your iPhone will scan the document and instantly add it as preview text.
  3. Click the Insert button and the text from the printed page will flow into the Notes app.

6- Save notes in PDF format:

If you want to convert specific notes from your Notes app into a PDF file, you don't need to use an external app. Because the Notes app lets you, and you can convert any note into a PDF file by following these steps:

  1. Open the note that you want to convert to PDF.
  2. Click the share icon in the upper right corner.
  3. Toggle the Collaborate enabled option to automatically send a copy option.
  4. Click Markup to preview notes in PDF format.
  5. Click (Done) to finish, then select the (Save File In) option to save the note as a PDF in the Files app.

7- The benefits of handwriting and drawing:

Drawing in the Notes app on the iPad isn't just with the Apple Pencil. Anyone with an iPhone can draw with just their fingers. If you want to handwrite or draw in the Notes app on iPhone, open a new note and tap the pen icon shown below to write or draw something on the screen.
