Google News is designed to make it easy to find the latest headlines and news personalized based on your interactions and interests. This allows you to find the news that interests you, view current events and diverse news content from different publishers, and customize specific topics to follow.
The service also offers a number of features that give you quick access to the messages that interest you. Here are 6 ways to try out these features and get the most out of Google News:
1- Adjust notification settings:
You may receive a lot of notifications from Google News throughout the day. Some contain news that interests you, and some that do not. To make sure important notifications arrive, you can follow the steps below to adjust notification settings on your Android phone:
- Press and hold the Google News app icon.
- Click the (i) button to open the application information menu.
- Enable notifications.
- Customize notification types using the Google News notification class.
To customize notification content on your iPhone, follow these steps:
- Open the Google News app and tap the round account image in the top right.
- Click on the Message Settings option.
- Choose the notification option.
- Select the button next to the category for which you want to receive news alerts.
If you want to reduce the number of notifications you receive from apps on your Android phone and iPhone every day, follow these steps:
- Open the Google News app and tap the round account image in the top right.
- Click on the Message Settings option.
- Choose the notification option.
- Use the indicators to reduce the number of notifications.
2- Check full coverage of specific news:
If you want full media coverage of a particular news article, you can easily do so on the Google News app by following these steps:
- Start reading any story in the app.
- Click the Full Overwrite option.
- Google News displays the same articles from other media sources that you may read.
3- Save hot topics:
You may not have enough time at the beginning of the day to read all the important news. In this case, you can save a message for later reading by following these steps:
- Open a news article in Google News.
- If you're using an Android phone, tap the "Save" icon that appears at the bottom of the screen, or tap the three-dot button that appears at the top right of the screen, then select "Save for later."
- Go back to the home screen and open the Continue tab.
- Scroll down and you will find all your saved messages.
4- Hide stories from a specific place:
If you no longer wish to see articles from a particular website or publisher, you can hide recent and upcoming articles from that site on your Google Newsfeed page by following these steps on your Android phone and iPhone:
- Open Google News and search for the articles you want to hide.
- Click on the three dots menu button next to Stories.
- Select the option (Hide all articles from ... "site name") ... Hide all articles from a file.
5- Add your favorite news sources to your phone's home screen:
If you are using an Android phone, you can add any news source to your phone's home screen for direct access without having to open Google News every time to see the latest news from that source. To do this, follow these steps:
- Open the app (Google News) on your phone and go to the tab (below).
- Find the specific source you want to display on your home screen, then tap the three-dot menu button in the top-right corner.
- Click on Add to Home Screen option.
- Click Add automatically to add the source code to the home screen.
6- Read all news articles from a specific site:
- With Google News, you can see all the news from your favorite websites right in the app by following these steps on your Android phone and iPhone:
- Open the Google News app on your phone.
- Click the three dot menu button next to a news article.
- Click (Go..."Post site name")...Go.
- Browse all news articles in different categories on the news site of your choice. You can click the star icon in the upper right corner to add a post to your favourites. You can access them later from the following tabs.
