Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai has announced the launch of a limited beta of AI-powered chat app Bard, Google's answer to ChatGPT, which has skyrocketed in popularity in recent weeks.
(Pichai) explained that the application is now available to a limited group of users that the company has chosen to try, and it will be rolled out to all users in the coming weeks.
He also said that (Cool) is based on a conversational app model called LaMDA, which the company announced two years ago. He said that Bard's ability to provide high-quality answers with updated information directly from the web indicates that it is superior to ChatGPT, which cannot provide information after 2021.
He also talked about all kinds of ideas that Google's new software could offer, from simplifying complex scientific concepts to keeping up with the latest sports news or teaching users new skills.
In the post, he states that (Bard) will not be the best that Google currently offers because its initial version is based on a stripped-down version of the LaMDA model, which is smaller and less computationally intensive. Serve more users and get feedback and suggestions faster. He said user feedback and Google's test scores are being collected to improve the quality of answers.
Pichai confirmed that Bard will be more than just a chat program, and its functionality will be integrated into Google search results to provide concise answers to what the user is searching for.
Bard will not only meet the needs of ordinary users, but also provide an API for developers to use and integrate smart functions into their applications. (Pichai) said that the company will soon invite developers to test a beta version of the program's interface.
Google's statement is a confirmation of previous leaks regarding Google developing a competing service for ChatGPT. Although Google is one of the leaders in the field of artificial intelligence and has contributed to the development of many of its technologies, including the technology used by ChatGPT itself, it is too late to develop similar ideas despite the existing projects in this field. I started a few years ago before I decided to quit. But the huge success of ChatGPT brought the idea back to the fore and accelerated its adoption.
Note that Google recently announced that it will hold a press conference on February 8th to discuss the latest developments in the field of artificial intelligence. The meeting is expected to provide more details on the AI capabilities available in Bard and its other applications.
