Samsung unveils the Odyssey Neo G9 screen preliminary specifications |
Samsung announced new models for its desktop monitors on Monday as part of its participation in the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2023), which aims to "expand its leadership in visual displays for consumers."
The South Korean technology giant said in a statement that the new lineup of these monitors "will provide unparalleled picture quality and a range of innovative features for people who want to work, play and live with displays."
Samsung added that it is "revolutionizing" the ultra-wide screen category with the launch of the Odyssey Neo G9, the world's first dual-screen (4K) single display.
“With (Odyssey Neo G9), we are elevating the future of gaming monitors, making every game more immersive with innovative features and picture quality,” said Hon Chung, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics.
According to Samsung, the Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 gaming monitor (G95NC) offers gamers new levels of detail with an unprecedented field of view. It added that, for the first time, a gaming monitor delivers a massive resolution of 7680 x 2160 pixels and an aspect ratio of 32:9 on a single screen.
The 57-inch 1000R curved monitor features Quantum Mini-LED technology and supports VESA Display HDR 1000 for brilliant imaging in any gaming environment, including everything from shadows to bright scenes. The matte screen reduces light reflections off the screen and minimizes distractions while gaming.
The monitor is also the first in the world to support DisplayPort 2.1, which transfers data twice as fast as the previously used DisplayPort 1.4. In addition, the new port supports industry-standard Display Stream compression technology for distortion-free transmission of information.
According to Samsung, the new monitor (Odyssey Neo G9) supports a high frequency of 240Hz "so that gamers will not miss anything in high-speed games."
The screen will be shown at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2023) in Las Vegas, USA from January 5 to 8.
