Samsung launched the new Odyssey Neo G7 smart gaming screen

Samsung announced on Thursday the global launch of its new screen (Odyssey Neo G7), which will be the first flat screen with (mini-LED) technology in the line of gaming screens (Odyssey), which is often curved.

The South Korean tech giant said in a statement that the new screen provides a wide field of view, which aims to provide players with broader vision and detail.

Samsung's new display model (G70NC) has a size of 43 inches, (4K) resolution, and supports (VESA Display HDR600) and (HDR10 +) image technologies.

According to the company, the screen (Odyssey Neo G7) supports Samsung's Quantum Matrix technology that uses lights (Quantum Mini LEDs) to provide ultra-precise and precise control of intense lights (LEDs). As a result, "even in dark gaming environments, users can see blacks more clearly and other colors more accurately."

Additionally, Samsung claims that the Odyssey Neo G7's matte screen reduces light reflections, thus reducing distractions while gaming. She adds that through (DisplayPort 1.4) or dual ports (HDMI 2.1), it can connect to the latest gaming platforms.

Mobile games can also be streamed to the screen via built-in Bluetooth 5.2 or Wi-Fi, and the screen can be mounted on a stick to control cloud gaming without a gaming device.

Samsung said that with a frequency of 144Hz and a response time of no more than 1ms, a fast response and smooth gaming experience can be achieved with the support of (AMD FreeSync Premium Pro) technology.

With the Flex Move Screen feature, users can adjust the display area of the screen to their preferred size between 43" and 20" depending on the game and even change the position of the screen. To customize their performance, gamers can use the Samsung Game Bar, which allows users to quickly view and change key settings without leaving the game screen.

Through the Game Bar, gamers can view and change frames per second (FPS), aspect ratio, high dynamic range (HDR), and variable refresh rate (VRR), as well as adjust settings such as game response time and picture mode.

Users can use the screen to instantly access content streaming services: Amazon Prime Video, YouTube and other services provided through the Samsung Smart Hub platform. You can also easily access game streaming services like NVIDIA GeForce Now through Samsung Game Center.

Samsung didn't mention pricing but said the monitor (the Odyssey Neo G7) will be available globally from the first quarter of 2023, though availability will vary by region.
