Samsung first TV circadian certification |
Samsung today announced that its 2023 Neo QLED and Lifestyle TVs have received circadian display certification from the VDE Institute, the leading German certification body for electrical engineering.
The company said the certification confirms Samsung's commitment to developing technology and products that meet consumers' needs.
The certification was granted after the effectiveness of Samsung TV's Eye Comfort mode, which simulates natural outdoor lighting by automatically balancing exposure and color temperature, has been scientifically proven.
Circadian rhythms are based on a cycle in which dynamic activity during the day suppresses melatonin secretion and stimulates its release, resulting in a restful sleep at night. The same hormone is known to improve sleep quality.
The VDE certification, issued by the German Institute, focuses on validating the benefits of Eye Comfort mode and its positive impact on regulating the user's circadian rhythm by measuring daily alertness at different light levels, as well as evaluating the effect on the suppression of melatonin secretion. The accreditation process corresponds to the daily stimulation method based on the results of American Lighting Research Center research.
The certification is one of many Samsung TVs to receive and represents the company's efforts to create products that put the user and their experience first.
Some time ago, the company's TV received the (Eye Care) certification from (VDE) and the (Glare-Free) certification from the American Research Institute (UL), in addition to two other certifications from Pantone: (Pantone Validated) and (Verified by SkinTone) As further proof that Samsung displays fully meet the agency's color accuracy standards.
