| Samsung creates a screen that folds and pulls together |
Samsung Display, the display manufacturing division of Samsung Electronics, announced on Tuesday that it will display its latest innovations at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2023), which begins tomorrow, Thursday, in Las Vegas, United States.
The South Korean technology giant said in a statement: “Samsung Display is approaching (CES 2023) with innovative products that showcase the future of (OLED) technology.”
Samsung added that it will host an invitation-only exhibition at CES from January 4 to 7 themed "Disruptive Technology Journey Unlocks a Sustainable Future," marking the first time since 2020 that it is fully open to dedicated activities.
During the event, Samsung Display will showcase its innovative OLED products in various sizes, large, medium and small, providing an insight into the future of displays.
Among these innovations, the company will introduce Flex Hybrid screens that can be folded and assembled, as well as large, stretchable screens that will serve as prototypes for future laptops.
For the (Flex Hybrid) screen, Samsung made it clear that the folding function is applied to the left side of the screen and the stretching function is applied to the right side.
And for the innovative new screen, the company says users can enjoy videos on a 10.5-inch screen, which when unfolded in a 4:3 aspect ratio becomes a 12-inch screen with a 16:10 fold.
The large 17-inch retractable display was previously revealed at Intel Innovation 2022 and will be revealed again at CES 2023.
Samsung explained that the retractable screen has two concepts: (Flex Slidable Solo), which can extend the screen in one direction, and (Flex Slidable Duet), which can extend the screen in two directions.
The company added that the screen is very portable; It measures 13 to 14 inches in normal mode and 17.3 inches when drawn for multitasking, gaming, and video editing.
It is noteworthy that Samsung also announced, within the framework of its participation in the (CES 2023) exhibition, other products, such as: the Smart Monitor M8, and three other screens aimed at game enthusiasts and content makers, and they are: (Odyssey Neo G9), and (Odyssey OLED G9) and (ViewFinity S9).
