Apple's upcoming glasses will enable augmented reality apps with Siri |
Apple is working on new software tools that will allow developers and customers to create augmented reality apps for the company's mixed reality glasses, according to a new report.
According to a report by The Information, Apple will allow ordinary users to create and publish apps for the glasses via the smart assistant Siri.
The report says Apple hopes these software tools will allow even non-programmers to ask Siri for their next pair of glasses, creating an augmented reality app that can then be made available through the App Store, so others can download them.
For example, the tool could allow users to create virtual animal applications that can move in space, over, or around real-world objects without designing the animal from scratch, programming its movement, and navigating a 3D space with obstacles to do. in.
The report compares Apple's tools to those of Minecraft and Roblox, which allow anyone to easily create 3D tools and worlds.
Apple will use technology from a Canadian company acquired in 2017 (Fabric Software), and customers will be able to distribute native augmented reality apps on the App Store as well as apps from professional developers.
It should be noted that Apple already offers some tools for creating augmented reality, such as b. (Reality Composer) on iPhones and iPads, to which the company may add mixed reality glasses.
It's also worth noting that the report cites people who saw demos of these tools in 2021, so the information in the report seems outdated and Apple's plans may have changed since then.
But the report also mentions that Apple is developing augmented reality content for glasses, as company officials have cited health concerns for glass applications, including augmented reality applications that aid meditation and mindfulness practices.
In response, Apple's chief supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo tweeted earlier this month that the company may release mixed reality glasses in the spring of 2023.
