Intel breaks through the 6GHz frequency barrier with its latest Core i9-13900KS processor

Intel says its fastest processor in the desktop processor category is available today for $699.

The US technology giant's processor (Core i9-13900KS) earned this title because it managed to break the 6GHz frequency limit for the first time.

The new processor belongs to the thirteenth generation (Core i9-13900K) series of processors, which last year approached the 6 GHz mark with a frequency of 5.8 GHz with Turbo Boost technology.

This technology allows Intel to break the rule that each processor has a specific operating frequency. This technology changes the frequency of the processor. It is used to speed up the performance of the processor by increasing the core frequency because it allows the processor core to run at a higher frequency than the base operating frequency at which it normally operates.

The new Core i9-13900KS is the first processor to reach 6GHz without overclocking, with Intel Thermal Speed Boost technology.

Apple managed to achieve this by increasing power, since the previous processor (Core i9-13900K) had a base power of 125 watts, and with its new processor (Core i9-13900KS) Intel increased this number to 150 watts.

Regardless of this change, the Core i9-13900KS has the same specifications as the Core i9-13900K, in that it has 23 cores - 8 for performance, 16 for efficiency - 32 threads and 36 MB of Intel Smart. Cache, 20 PCIe slots.

The Z790 and Z690 Core i9-13900KS motherboards will be supported via a BIOS update, and retailers will begin offering the processors starting today with prices starting at $699.

It should be noted that the new Intel processors arrive weeks before the launch of the competing (AMD) line of processors (Ryzen 7000 X3D), which the company says (Ryzen 9 7950X3D) is "best for gamers" and "the ultimate gamer". The processor “will be . . the manufacturer.”

It should also be noted that Intel's new announcement follows the announcement of the fourth-generation Intel Xeon Scalable (Intel Xeon Max) family of processors, in addition to the Intel Max family of graphics processors for data centers.
