How to use Apple new Freeform app

Apple has released a new app called (Freeform) available for many Apple devices running iOS 16.2, iPadOS 16.2, and macOS Ventura 13.1. Apple describes the app as a "flexible creative canvas" that you can use indefinitely, using photos, links, and graphic files in one place to design your own or invite others to join you.

That is why today we are going to review the features of this app and the different ways you can make use of it:

Free app features:

The main interface of the app is slightly different on phones and tablets than on a computer, but Apple has ensured that using Freeform provides a very similar experience regardless of the device used.

When you open the app for the first time you will find a whiteboard where you can write anything you want, add pictures, videos and audio, combine shapes and notes, add documents, maps and many other items. You can organize everything you add however you want and create an unlimited number of pages.

You can drag and drop any file directly into the app, and a built-in side button makes it easy to add photos and videos without having to switch apps or wait for new content to load. After adding an element, you can resize it, rotate it, or add it on top of other elements.

And Apple has added the ability for the app to appear as small dots on the screen (with built-in alignment guides) to help you organize your panels and pin specific items to specific locations when prompted. Himself - the same.

If you are using an iPad or iPhone, you can use more drawing tools in the app, such as b. Free-form pens and brushes, and you can use your finger or Apple Pencil to draw and design within the app.

It should be noted that these tools are not available on Mac computers, although these devices have touch screens.

How to use the free app:

The possibilities for free-form drawing, designing, writing, and layout are endless. The main feature of this app is the ability to share your design boards with multiple people to create a specific design or idea together.

This feature takes the functionality of the app to the next level. You can invite up to 99 people, so everyone gets the same tools and improvements, and you can tag everyone's posts with color-coded tags.

To invite someone to your application board, use the share option and the changes will be reflected on the board as they are added. You can control access to the free-form tables at any time.

The navigation pane also gives you access to recently used boards, shared boards, favorite boards, and a list of all boards.

This app works very well and neatly with other Apple software. For example, you can drag a free-form canvas into a specific conversation in Messages to invite everyone to participate in your work. Kanban updates are posted to the same thread, so you don't have to switch apps to see who shares with you.

If you prefer to communicate with your team via video and audio, you can have a FaceTime video call between all employees and a video icon will appear in the corner of the screen so you can monitor your digital signage at the same time. If you want to share the board after designing, you can save it as a PDF and send it between apps.

It should be noted that Google offers a similar application called (Google Jamboard), which is one of the lesser known Google products. But it includes many features similar to Apple's applications in addition to other features such as: the ability to combine text, images, sticky notes, and the presence of a virtual laser pointer. This app is compatible with other Google products such as Google Meet.
