Announcing the Nokia C12 mobile phone for low-income people |
(HMD Global) announced the launch of its new Nokia C12 smartphone (Nokia C12), which is based on a simplified version of the Android operating system (Android 12 Go Edition) and targets people with limited incomes.
The Finnish company's new phone is the successor to the Nokia C10, which was launched in early 2021 and is smaller than most C-series phones.
(Nokia C12) has a thickness of 8.75 mm, weighs 177.4 grams, and has a 6.3-inch screen (IPS-LCD) with a resolution of 1600 x 720 pixels, an aspect ratio of 20: 9, and a pixel density of 278 pixels per inch.
The phone packs an octa-core processor (Unisco SC9863A1) clocked at 1.6GHz along with an IMG8322 GPU. It also has 2GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage that is not expandable.
(Nokia C12) It offers two 8-megapixel rear cameras and a 5-megapixel front camera, located in a hole at the top of the screen.
The new phone (HMD Global) supports 4G LTE networks, Bluetooth 5.2 technology, wireless network technology (Wi-Fi b / g / n) and is equipped with a traditional headphone jack.
And (Nokia C12) contains a removable 3000 mAh battery that only needs 5 watts to charge. To make the phone durable, the company made the body out of polycarbonate and covered the front with toughened glass to protect the screen. According to the (IP52) standard, the phone supports dust and water splash protection.
The company promises quarterly security updates for two years, and there is no information on OS updates.
(Nokia C12) phones are sold in three colors: green, blue and brown, and retail for the equivalent of $130. Sales will initially take place in Germany and Austria, and will soon also be available in other markets.
