According to Bing... Microsoft could bring ChatGPT to Office applications |
According to a new report, Microsoft has been experimenting with integrating artificial intelligence technology developed by OpenAI (OpenAI) into its office suites: Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook for some time.
Information indicates that the US software giant has already integrated an unknown version of OpenAI's GPT templates into Word's autocomplete feature and is working on further integration into PowerPoint and Outlook.
According to the report, Microsoft is using a pattern (GPT) to improve search results in Outlook, allowing users to find what they're looking for without having to search emails with keywords.
The company has also reportedly studied how AI models suggested responses to emails or suggested changes to documents to improve Word users' writing. It's not clear if Microsoft plans to roll out these features or if it's just an experiment at this point.
And if Microsoft plans to integrate a modern AI-based chatbot (ChatGPT), Outlook can generate entire email messages from simple queries.
Microsoft also plans to release a version of its Bing web browser that uses ChatGPT to answer search queries. The new feature, which is expected to be launched in early March next year, is intended to allow Bing to better compete with the Google search engine.
It is believed that introducing more AI-based text generation capabilities into Microsoft's productivity applications may face several challenges: the main challenge is accuracy, as (ChatGPT) always tends to skew information, so that users can rely on it. When writing problematic texts and emails with others.
Another major hurdle is privacy, as Microsoft needs to tailor its models to individual users without compromising user data. The information indicates that Microsoft is investigating the use of (GPT-3) and (GPT-4) privacy models that have not yet been implemented. Microsoft researchers have reportedly been able to train large language models on private data. A company can use the templates to extract and summarize meeting information from its Teams video conferencing service, then add the images generated by OpenAI's Dall-E 2 imaging template to their PowerPoint presentations.
It should be noted that Microsoft is already using a variety of AI technologies in its productivity applications, for example b. Word and PowerPoint use AI algorithms to automatically suggest images and captions for slides, and Services teams built the use of AI to improve AI-powered echo and speech autocompletion for programming code using (GPT-3) two years ago. Microsoft Editor also improves your writing, using artificial intelligence for spelling, grammar, and text prediction.
Microsoft and Microsoft obtained an exclusive license to the underlying technology (GPT-3) in 2020 after investing $1 billion in OpenAI (OpenAI) in 2019. A close relationship with the latter has grown since then, including plans to add a smart template that uses Dall-E 2 Convert text to images in Bing Browser.
“Artificial intelligence will reshape the way you do everything on Windows,” Panos Panay, president of Microsoft Windows and Surface, said at last week’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2023).
The Surface Computer production team is ready to build new hardware to take advantage of AI, including: the new Surface Smart Camera. In a recent interview with The Verge, several members of the Surface team discussed the impact of AI on Windows and devices.
