Twitter will make it easier for users to navigate between tweets and news topics

Elon Musk said on Friday that Twitter will soon allow users to switch between parts of the platform by swiping the screen.

Twitter owner and CEO announced the changes in his tweet, in which he explained that a new Twitter navigation mechanism will be introduced in January 2023 as it will allow horizontal scrolling on recommended tweets on Twitter. In addition to trending topics (trends), topics and more.

In response to users, Musk said that Twitter will be added to the above list. In another response, he also said that as Twitter's artificial intelligence improves, "tweets, lists, and suggested topics will all be great."

Musk first hinted at the new feature in early December, stating that the main timeline, or homepage, can easily scroll through popular topics, new topics, and topics users are following.

Notably, the platform already allows users to switch between the timeline view (showing tweets from newest to oldest) and the main timeline (showing recommended tweets) by clicking on the star icon in the top-right corner of the app. But this step goes further by adding additional offerings and making them easier to access with just a swipe.

At this point, it's not clear when the company intends to roll out the new feature to the public, but it does add to the list of new features Twitter has rolled out since Musk's acquisition in late October, including: tweet views, Twitter blue priority - followers in conversations, and square profile photos of companies Twitter Blue For Business.
