Telegram launches its latest update in 2022 with many features |
On Friday, messaging service Telegram announced the launch of its latest update for 2022, which includes features like blocked media, new ways to save space on your device, new drawing tools, and suggested profile pictures.
Telegram says it supports the obfuscated format to hide text in messages. Photos and videos can now also be overlaid with a glossy layer that darkens the image. Recipients can view the content with a single click. In the list of attachments, you can select one or more items, then click on the three buttons and choose "hide by opacity".
To save space on a user's device, a separate setting to automatically delete cached media can be added to private chats, groups, and channels, but exceptions are provided for certain chats. The new pie chart helps show how much storage space is being used on a device. Tabs dedicated to Media, Documents and Audio files allow digitizing even the largest files in just a few clicks.
On iOS, Telegram claims to have significantly reduced the time it takes for the app to calculate storage size.
Telegram also said that the media editor has been redesigned on its service as there is a new masking tool to hide sensitive data and 5 accurate color picker methods including: color picker tool.
When adding text to images or videos, it's now possible to change the size, font, and background, and note that all users can now add custom animated emojis to text on images, even if they don't have a premium Telegram subscription.
When editing a contact, you can now choose a photo of them that will only be visible to you on their profile, and if you have a photo that matches one of your contacts and is visible to everyone, you can suggest it with this update to them. Recipients can add photo suggestions with just two clicks.
If you want to allow only some users to see your profile picture, you can set a public picture for others. With this feature, Telegram wants to achieve the highest level of privacy possible for profile photos.
Telegram said some tools, such as implementing brute-force anti-obfuscation, can help moderators keep large groups clean, but some groups may also want to protect their members from unwanted personal messages. Therefore, group admins with more than 100 members now have the option to hide the list of members. So if a member who does not want to receive messages from another member of the group does not send a message, only the moderator will know that he is part of the group.
Android users can download the latest version of the Telegram app from the Google Play Store, iOS users from the App Store and other devices from the service's website.
