I cook by the meter (a lot) and have researched a lot of cheap digital products that claim to be waterproof but aren't. I finally decided to spend the extra $10 and am so glad it has worked like a dream so far. I like the glass top and while it's not as thin as the cheaper models, I don't mind because it either stands up against the wall or tilts back and doesn't recede. Anyway, I'm a huge fan of Kitchen Butler and I'm glad it not only met my expectations, but also exceeded them. Upgrade no problem, but overall KitchenAid customer service is top notch!
Not as good as it looks
Good looking product. There is no blank key. So if you need to measure more than one item, you'll have to cycle the power, put the bowl on the scale, and add your ingredients. The strange thing is that this staircase was built without a ladder. Sometimes it does not hatch completely or accurately. Sometimes the weight fluctuates and nothing appears on the scale.
If you see this product and think it looks great quality, you are not alone but, like me, you are wrong. All in all not bad, nice, light but by no means that good
Accurate measurements are inaccurate and unreliable
In short, it is not accurate in the specifications given in the product description. I can move the same object between two scales and get different weights outside of the specified tolerances. For example, the smaller scale reads 76.89g while the larger scale reads 73g for the same object. That's a difference of about 4 grams, but the scale says it's accurate to within 0.1 grams.
Even if essential oils are spilled on the screen, it works just fine
I love how I can weigh grams with such accuracy and use both platforms at the same time. I wish the smaller parts had more weight, but I'm learning to work around this limitation. The first time I used it I managed to squirt essential oil and it leaked behind the display glass - I thought the whole scale would fail but it still works and weighs things accurately so I need it so far
proper measurement
This is the second KitchenAid scale after the batteries in the first KitchenAid scale wore out and the entire unit had to be removed. This time I'm storing away from the microwave (since they have a handy slot for these gauges) and battery corrosion hasn't been an issue so far.
I like the two size options (small and large). It's easy to take two scales off if you have a bowl before adding the items being weighed. readable. Sometimes it may be a bit sensitive and need to be reset several times to keep the value at 0.
