Report: Musk is looking for a new manager for Twitter

Twitter owner and CEO Elon Musk is looking for a new CEO for the company, according to a new report from CNBC Tuesday.

Musk, who bought the company for $44 billion in late October, had previously said his role as CEO of Twitter would be temporary.

Then in court in November, he said, "I'm hoping to shorten my time on Twitter and find someone to run Twitter over time." However, he wrote in a tweet on Sunday that this social media company has no potential to succeed him.

"It's not about finding a CEO, it's about finding a CEO who can keep Twitter alive," Musk wrote.

Then, on Monday, Musk released a poll asking his now 122.3 million followers, “Should I step down as president of the company? I will stand by the results of this poll.”

More than 17.5 million users took part in the vote and 57.6% supported his resignation.

According to CNBC sources, Musk is looking for a new CEO and will start ahead of Twitter polls.
