OnePlus sets the date for the upcoming OnePlus 11 announcement

Today, Monday, OnePlus has scheduled the announcement of its next smartphone, the OnePlus 11, a teaser of an event that is scheduled to take place early next year.

In a photo released by the Chinese company, the Cloud 11 event will be held on February 7 in the Indian capital, New Delhi, where the OnePlus 11 5G phone and OnePlus Buds Pro 2 headphones will be unveiled.

The images released today are identical to previously released images of the phone and show a new design for the rear camera.

Separately, OnePlus spokesperson Spencer Blank confirmed that the phone will offer a Hasselblad-branded camera and alert slider, two features missing from the OnePlus 10T phone.

OnePlus didn't detail the OnePlus 11's specs, but added "I see what the power looks like" on the teaser image, which refers to the next phone's key feature: fast charging.

Recent discoveries show that this phone will support up to 100W of fast charging along with Qualcomm's latest generation processor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, and a 6.7-inch screen with a frequency of 120Hz.

The specifications mentioned in the leak do not seem surprising given that they are common in other companies' flagship phones, and OnePlus is expected to showcase some unique features at an event planned for early February 2022.

OnePlus is believed to have chosen India for its event as it hopes to build on the success of its mid-range devices in the South Asian market in 2022.

According to a report by market research firm Counterpoint Research, the company aims to increase its presence in the high-end mobile phone market, as OnePlus ranks third in the Indian smartphone market after Apple and Samsung.
