Musk Posts Poll: Should I Step Down From Twitter?

Elon Musk, Twitter's new president and CEO, on Monday released a poll asking his followers if he should step down as president of the company.

As of this writing, the poll has more than 15 million followers. Results now show that 57.2% of voters think Musk should step down, while 42.8% don't.

Musk, who now has more than 122.1 million followers on Twitter, said he would respect the findings of the investigation, which ends in about two hours.

"I'm hoping to shorten my time on Twitter and find someone to run Twitter over time," Musk said in court in November. However, he wrote in a tweet on Sunday that the social media company has no potential successor.

"It's not about finding a CEO, it's about finding a CEO who can keep Twitter alive," Musk wrote.

Please note that Twitter polls are unofficial and cannot be compared to professional polls and Twitter poll responses can also be recorded by malicious bots or untrustworthy accounts.

Musk's poll on Sunday sparked a backlash online after Twitter suddenly changed its policies for Twitter users in recent days.

On Sunday, for example, the company announced a new policy under which it bans accounts on other social platforms created solely for the purpose of "free" advertising, saying it will remove links containing content or a username.
