| Evie .. a smart ring that focuses on women's health |
Movano today launched the Evie Smart Ring, which focuses on women's health, and is expected to be available next year.
With Evie, the company hopes to build on the success of companies like Fitbit and Apple by giving women the ability to monitor their health using a wearable device.
The list of features supported by the new smart ring includes resting heart rate and pressure, blood oxygen (SpO2) levels, breathing rate, skin temperature fluctuations, menstruation cycle, menstruation cycle and symptom tracking, ovulation and activity tracking including: steps, active minutes Calorie consumption, sleep stages and periods, and mood monitoring.
One of the key features of the ring is mood tracking, and the upcoming Happy Ring app will use the data collected by the ring to help manage women's daily lives and help them sleep better.
Movano said it plans to get the product approved by the Food and Drug Administration without a set timeline on this front.
With her permission, the Ring will provide women with reliable personal information to help them relate cause and effect so that they can better understand the "why" behind their feelings. In addition, Evie will provide data that clinicians can rely on when caring for patients.
"As a medical device, Evie will transcend the status quo of other wearable devices on the market, and we believe it has the potential to transform women's lives and public health," Movano CEO John Mastrototaro said in a press release. “We empower women to manage their health by combining biometric medical data and information into a comfortable and stylish wearable device.”
The price of the product is expected to be around $300 and unlike some others, there are no additional subscription fees.
