Twitter imposes a requirement to get the blue verification badge

Twitter has decided to prevent newly registered users of the platform from getting the blue verification badge already available to subscribers of the paid service, Twitter Blue.

As of yesterday, Twitter is offering the ability to get a blue verification badge for anyone who pays $7.99 per month.

The company said that any accounts created on or after November 9 cannot sign up for Twitter Blue at this time.

It's unclear whether things will change in the future, especially after new Twitter chief Elon Musk said the platform would make "dumb" decisions to move forward in response to his exit from the new identity verification phrase.

On Wednesday, Musk tweeted that he had deleted the "official" hashtag that had been appearing on several prominent Twitter accounts for several hours.

The world's richest man tweeted, "You know Twitter is going to do a lot of stupid things in the next few months. We'll keep what works and change what doesn't."

Musk removed the word "official" just a day after the social media company's product manager announced it, causing confusion between Twitter's current blue check mark and "official." The difference was baffled, and the latter said that the accounts he checked were official.

Following the chaos a few days ago, the platform announced a blue verification badge for Twitter Blue subscribers, including some celebrities with verified accounts on the platform who have changed their display name instead of taking Elon Musk's personal name. picture.

Elon Musk then warned that the platform would ban any account impersonating another account. "From now on, any Twitter account that impersonates another person will be permanently banned without specifying that they should be mocked," Musk wrote on Twitter.

Although the Company has been notified in advance prior to suspending accounts, verified accounts will be suspended without notice after reviewing publicly available account features.

Now, it appears that preventing new signups from subscribing to Twitter Blue is an attempt to stop a potential string of fake cases once the door is opened and everyone gets a blue tick.
