Sony announces the price and release date of the PS VR2 headset |
Sony announced today (Wednesday) the release date of the PlayStation VR2 virtual reality headset and related accessories.
Earlier this year, the Japanese tech giant unveiled the glasses alongside its VR game console.
Sony said on its blog that the PlayStation VR2 will be officially available on February 22, 2023 and that the PlayStation VR2 Sense charging station will be available on the same day.
The company stated that the PlayStation VR2 glasses cost $549.99 and come in the box with the glasses, PS VR2 Sense joystick, and a stereo headset.
Another chest containing the above plus a coupon code to purchase Horizon Call of the Mountain costs $599.99. The joystick charging base costs $49.99.
Sony claims that gamers can easily charge the PS VR2 Sense console via the charging dock without connecting it to the PlayStation 5 PS5 console. She added that indie games including Horizon Call of the Mountain will be available for pre-order this month.
Pre-orders for the glasses are open from November 15 in select countries such as the US and UK, and those interested in pre-ordering can do so starting today at direct.playstation.com. In other countries, the glasses will be sold out in retail stores and pre-orders will start on the same day.
