Snapchat is rolling out new features and experiences ahead of the 2022 World Cup
Snapchat rolled out a number of new features and experiences ahead of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar, allowing users to show their support for their teams and catch up on the action.
The new feature of the shorthand video sharing service is to allow users to wear their virtual team's jersey and have their Bitmoji avatar wear that jersey, in addition to displaying match highlights and other features.
Snapchat has partnered with Adidas to allow users to wear team uniforms for their Bitmoji characters and decorate their snaps with official team stickers and filters.
The app's curated content platform, Snapchat Discover, will feature tournament highlights, goals, player interviews, match analysis and behind-the-scenes content from over 30 countries.
On Spotlight, the entertainment platform created by Snapchat's UGC, US users can submit Snaps to win cash prizes for creating powerful Snaps with specific Lenses, sounds, or themes.
Additionally, the Snap Map features curated stories of fans watching and celebrating the team during matches.
Users can click on specific locations to view snapshots that will be shared with everyone. Stories include footage from the spectators' gig, fan experiences, reactions from the stands, and game highlights.
