Qualcomm confirms that the Galaxy S23 series is based solely on Snapdragon chips |
Qualcomm has officially confirmed that Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S23 series of phones will be based exclusively on the Snapdragon chipset.
Previous expectations indicated that the Galaxy S23 series phones could launch different models with Qualcomm chips while the other models come with Samsung chips as Samsung is planning to launch the Galaxy S23 series phones that will be launched in early February.
During Qualcomm's fourth-quarter earnings report, Akash Palkhiwala confirmed the company's forecast for a strong first quarter of 2023 (late March), which will see the launch of the Galaxy S23 series.
Qualcomm's CFO also confirmed that Qualcomm's share of the Galaxy S22 series will increase to 75% next year to the total share of chips powering the Galaxy S23 series, allowing Qualcomm chips for all Samsung versions of the Galaxy S23. series.
On the other hand, the upcoming Galaxy S23 range includes the company's flagship Plus version as well as the Galaxy S23 Ultra, the next version featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip.
