Kaspersky: Nine out of ten employees need training in digital security skills

Kaspersky Internet Security uses a special evaluation tool that it has developed; It uses a game-based model to assess awareness of employees' digital security skills, particularly when working from home.

The results showed that only 11% of the 3,907 employees tested had a high level of digital security awareness, with only a few experienced users making the most mistakes while browsing the web.

With 90% of people overestimating their digital security skills, Kaspersky developed the Kaspersky Gamified assessment tool to change employee security behaviors, raise awareness, help CIOs and HR departments measure employees' digital skills and provide them with a vital learning platform to deliver.

In the quiz game, employees receive points for decisions made in the common remote work scenario, whether at home, on a business trip, or in the office. Ask employees to rate whether their actions involve digital risks and to indicate their level of confidence in the assumptions.

One in ten employees (11%) who took the test received a Certificate of Excellence, which means that they gave the correct answer and achieved a potential score of over 90%. Most users achieved an “average” score of 61% between 82% and 90%, while 28% of users were unable to demonstrate sufficient knowledge of digital security and scored below 75%.

The rating tool user selects a "green disk" if a scene is considered safe and a red disk if a scene is considered unsafe. The number of pills showed their confidence in the answer.

The Kaspersky Gamification Assessment Tool covers six areas of security: passwords, accounts, email, web browsing, social networks, messaging applications, computer and mobile security. It turned out that the area of \u200b\u200bbrowsing the Internet was the most difficult for users; Only 24% were able to correctly identify the programs.

Mobile related scenarios are the least complex; In these cases, 43% of employees did not make mistakes in identifying digital risks.

Commenting on the test results, Alexander Lunev, Director of Security Awareness and Academic Affairs at Kaspersky Platform, said that it gives employees a clearer motivation to learn and helps organizations find educational programs tailored to their needs. However, experts point out that achieving the best possible results in this test set "doesn't mean that users don't need additional training or regular cognitive updates," noting that "cybercriminals can constantly change their methods and the person who makes us care is liking the educational aspects of our product." For all learners at all levels.
