Discover PineApple the new professional network for Generation Z

Pineapple, which aims to reinvent professional networking for millennials, is officially open to the public after a beta period.

Based on the idea of enabling young professionals to connect with others through story-based visual profiles, the Pine Apple app is now only available for Apple's iOS.

Professional Networking is the brainchild of 22-year-old co-founder and chief developer David Diamond, who started working in technology at age 15 as a product design intern at Intercom.

After Diamond submitted his resume, Intercom rejected him due to his young age, but after clarifying his resume and building a large portfolio, he was accepted to work for the company, TechCrunch reported.

"I started thinking about how I got the job and how lucky I was," Diamond said in an interview with the site. So I'm wondering if I should create a wallet, what should my generation do? Therefore, we have a clear vision of building a professional Generation Z network. We have seen that other networks do not represent Generation Z as they should. We want to create a network that helps Generation Z connect and seize opportunities. The goal is to provide users with profiles that truly represent them. "

In 2020, Diamond co-founded Apple with Oliver Cruz Pine with the goal of transforming professional networking for Generation Z. After beta testing with 10,000 users, Apple's Pine is now ready for an official release.

According to Diamond, Apple's Pine app focuses on profiles designed to help users make deep and meaningful professional connections or connections by expressing themselves visually. Profiles generated by the app are a cross between LinkedIn and Instagram as they present the user's introduction, experience, projects, and more in the form of a visual story.

Pine Apple also has a community section to help users find like-minded people. There are communities in different areas, such as for example: venture capital, marketing, design, etc.

Within the community there is a Jams section with a chat channel for 24/7 discussions. Stacks can be used to delve into specific topics. For example, company founders may initiate "spies" to answer questions others may have about the company's development.

Pine Apple includes an Explore page that allows users to explore more groups, people, and communities. The app also has a TikTok-inspired For You page designed to help users stay connected.

Some might see Payne Apple as the "LinkedIn of Generation Z," but Diamond said the platform needs to evolve before he considers competing with LinkedIn. Right now, Pine Apple is focused on helping people connect in a different way than LinkedIn.

For example, Diamond said that some younger users can use LinkedIn to find mentors, but Apple's Pine is where they can connect with their peers, learn new things, and find people for their side projects. Diamond in Pine Apple adds that it does not focus on the status updates, work, or busy culture typically associated with LinkedIn.

Pine Apple will focus on growth for now before pursuing revenue. Paid features will be added when they are ready, and Diamond stated that the company plans to add subscriptions for creators who can offer paid educational content to users. In addition, Pine Apple wants to work with companies that can hire employees directly through the platform.
