| Samsung introduces a 200MP ISOCELL HPX sensor |
South Korean giant Samsung today unveiled the ISOCELL HPX sensor, the company's latest 200MP sensor.
Last June, Samsung introduced the ISOCELL HP3 200MP sensor, and today Samsung is introducing a new version of the 200MP sensor.
The ISOCELL HPX sensor supports a pixel size of 0.56 microns, which allows the sensor to support a 20 percent reduction in the size of cameras in phones to better support smaller and larger phones.
The ISOCELL HPX sensor is also based on Samsung's advanced "Deep Trench Isolation" technology, which isolates each pixel while optimizing the sensor to produce high-resolution images.
On the other hand, the ISOCELL sensor supports "Super QPD" technology that provides ultra-fast autofocus and ultra-accurate functions.
The new ISOCELL HPX sensor also supports "Tetra Pixel" technology, which combines 16 pixels into one larger pixel for clearer, more detailed low-light images, and the sensor can also be used in three compatible lighting environments. Switch between levels automatically.
Planned pixel sizes range from 0.56 µm to 1.12 µm in low-light locations, and produce up to 50 million pixels, including 2.24 µm pixels in low-light locations.
Samsung also highlights the dynamic performance of the new ISOCELL HPX sensor, which delivers clear, sharp images even in low light.
The sensor also supports 8K video recording at 30fps or dual HDR recording for smooth performance and supports 4K and FHD video recording.
The ISOCELL HPX sensor supports HDR content recording with three exposure levels of low, medium or high depending on the shooting environment. The sensor supports a color gamut of up to 4 trillion colours. Samsung is expected to announce details about sensor availability at a later date.
