Supco LIT11TC Infrared Thermometer with K-type Thermocouple Probe is suitable for temperature measurement in HVAC applications, including heating and cooling systems, supply and return coils, control panels, motors and bearings, transformers and pipes. For infrared measurements, the thermometer measures temperatures from -60 to 500 degrees Celsius (-76 to 932 degrees Fahrenheit) with an optimum accuracy of + or -1 degrees Celsius (+ or - 2 degrees Fahrenheit). Infrared sensors measure temperature over long distances and are useful in applications with hard-to-reach, moving, hot or live equipment. The infrared sensor has an area-to-spot ratio of 11:1, which means that if the target is 1 foot away, the sensing area is approximately 11 feet in diameter. It has customizable operating settings that help improve measurement accuracy on a variety of surface types. The built-in laser pointer helps improve targeting accuracy for infrared measurements. The LCD screen can display the current temperature, read the highest or lowest temperature, the difference between high and low temperature, and the average temperature during that period. Operators can choose to display readings in degrees Fahrenheit or Celsius. Operators can set high and low temperature alarms when measurements exceed or fall below preset limits. The screen is backlit for easy reading in low light. The thermometer runs on two AAA batteries (included) and can be set to turn off automatically after 60 seconds or 12 minutes of inactivity to conserve battery life. A carrying case is included for transporting and storing the thermometer.
