Qualcomm announces Snapdragon XR2 + Gen 1 with support for Meta Quest Pro |
Qualcomm recently announced the Snapdragon XR2 + Gen 1 chip that powers the new Meta version of the Meta Quest Pro mixed reality glasses.
Qualcomm has reviewed more details about the Snapdragon XR2 + Gen 1 chip, which supports ultra-fast image processing with a response time of less than 10ms and can unlock color video content in mixed reality.
The chip also supports 8K video content at 60 frames per second in 360 degrees, and the mixed reality technology includes hand motion tracking, head motion tracking, and console tracking.
The chip also supports 3D model reconstruction, has automatic mapping capabilities, and supports a higher pixel density, a 30 percent increase in thermal performance, and a 50 percent increase in sustainable power supplies.
The Meta Quest Touch Pro Glasses Controller features a Snapdragon 662 chip that enables point camera tracking and low latency support.
