Supports the next generation USB 4 standard dual speed IFA2022 |
The USB Promoter Group has announced that the second model of the USB 4 standard will have speeds of up to 80Gbps.
The second version of the USB 4 standard is twice as fast as the current version, and the new standard is also faster than the Thunderbolt 4 port standard.
On the other hand, the USB Implementers forum did not reveal specifics about the new standard, while the Enabler Group said in a press release that the USB 4 2.0 version will use USB-C, so there is a possibility that it will be doubly supported. The same existing cables are used in the new speed standard.
More details about the new standard will be officially announced at the upcoming USB DevDays conference on November 1, and Intel, HP, Microsoft and Apple are expected to adopt the new standard early.
