Samsung patents two selfie cameras under the screen

The South Korean giant Samsung has registered a patent for a dual camera system under the screen to support facial recognition technology.

Samsung's patent documents, filed in March 2021 and recently released, reveal a dual camera located at the top and bottom of the screen, designed to take pictures of users from different angles to enhance the 3D facial recognition technology.

Samsung is using the camera at the bottom of the screen in a new way with a dual system of selfie cameras under the screen.

The South Korean giant has only introduced the under-screen camera technology in the Galaxy Fold version of its smartphone, and Samsung is expected to introduce the new dual design in the Fold series as well.

Leaked patent documents indicate that the camera system could include a camera at the bottom of the screen and another at the top of the screen to scan 3D features of a user's face from different angles with higher resolution.

It should be noted that Samsung did not provide many details about this new patent or how the dual-screen camera works, so we expect more details about the development of this technology in the future.
