Car Hyper SSR 1225 horsepower arrives in China for pre-order |
After announcing the world's first electric SUV capable of driving more than 600 miles on a single charge, GAC's Aion brand has unveiled the world's fastest electric vehicle, the Hyper SSR.
Apparently, the Hyper brand will introduce a high-performance GAC Aion model, with first SSR deliveries expected to begin in October 2023.
However, the 1,225 horsepower that can propel the Hyper SSR Ultimate from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) in 1.9 seconds isn't cheap.
Those who pre-order can now get the supercar for the equivalent of $241,415, while the base SSR model, which sprints in 2.3 seconds, retails for $184,000.
Sub-2 acceleration makes the Hyper SSR the fastest car in the world according to GAC Aion. Aion has developed its own high-performance engine that delivers 12,000 Nm of torque to the wheels and 1.7 Gbps of acceleration.
It will also use a new 900V platform with a silicon carbide chip that increases the operating frequency by a factor of 2.5 while significantly reducing power consumption.
Sensitive gulls doors open and close automatically when the driver presses a button or steps on the brake pedal, and for record-breaking acceleration, the Hyper SSR's relatively light body will be made of carbon-fibre composite.
