BMW i4 Standard Edition will be launched later this year |
Electric cars are selling well in many markets around the world, despite disruptions in the supply chain and exorbitant prices. This apparently also applies to the elegant BMW i4, the cheapest model of which is called "eDrive40" and currently starts at $55,900 in the US.
The BMW i4 eDrive35 will be launched in Germany in November, after its official debut in North America last month. The 285-horsepower EV propels the premium electric car from 0-60 mph in six seconds, but there doesn't seem to be a word about top speed yet.
The BMW i4 eDrive35's battery has also been reduced compared to the more expensive version and now has a total capacity of 70 kWh, of which 66 kWh is available.
The car also has an official WLTP range of 300 miles, while maximum charging power has been reduced from 205 kW to 180 kW. Due to the lower battery capacity, the electric vehicle can still be charged from 0 to 80 in about half an hour at a DC fast charging station.
Pricing for the new BMW i4 eDrive35 starts at $51,400 in the US, with US delivery scheduled for the first quarter of 2023.
