Xiaomi launches Pilot Technology

Xiaomi officially entered the electric car industry in March 2021, investing $10 billion to develop an entirely new brand of cars that is currently going through regulatory speed bumps on its way to success.

And now Lei Jun (CEO of Xiaomi) has published the first progress report of Xiaomi's experimental technology.

Pilot Technology is Xiaomi's end-to-end autonomous driving solution, and the company has invested $500 million to build an R&D team and develop what it calls next-generation autonomous driving technology.

Xiaomi has employed more than 500 professionals from around the world in its R&D team, and the company has made a number of strategic acquisitions and investments along the way to ensure access to the latest technologies and developments.

According to Lei Jun, Xiaomi's independent technology uses an in-house developed integrated approach, and the progress made so far has exceeded all expectations. The company's approach to using technology to solve problems is very simple and effective.

The recruitment of global experts continues and the company plans to increase the number of its team members to more than 600 by the end of this year. To date, the R&D team consists of 50 industry experts, and the core team members come from the most well-known companies in the field of AI.

One of Xiaomi's strategic moves is the acquisition of leading independent Shendong Technology, which gives the company access to technologies developed with exciting breakthroughs and gives it access to the expertise and talent of the ST team.
