| HTC relies on the Metaverse for the Desire 22 Pro |
Last year HTC launched the HTC Desire 22 Pro, the successor to the HTC Desire 21 Pro, and represented the company's major attempt to cash in on what's known as the Metaverse.
The Taiwanese company hasn't released a competitive flagship device in years, but the company's smartphone division is back once again, providing users with a gateway to a virtual world.
There are two distinct aspects to the functionality of descriptive worms. The company created the device to be the perfect complement to HTC's recently released Vive Flow VR headset, which is used to access the enterprise version of the Metaverse, the Viverse.
The headset is designed to work with any Android phone. So it is unclear what features the Desire 22 Pro offers that are not found anywhere else.
There are also some NFT features, and the Taiwanese company's website announces that the phone includes a digital wallet for managing crypto assets and comes with free NFTs.
This appears to vary by market as the advertisement does not appear in the marketing materials on the UK site.
Given these specs, many who have read about the company's return to the smartphone market over the past few months may be disappointed.
Although the company's CEO Charles Wong said at the time that it would launch a high-end smartphone. But the company has brought with it a mid-range phone.
The Desire 22 Pro has a 6.6-inch screen with a resolution of 1080 x 2412 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, a 20:9 aspect ratio and a notch in the upper left corner that houses a 32MP selfie camera. .
The company claims that the large screen helps you immerse yourself in the virtual world while using the Vive Flow headset.
There is also a triple camera setup on the back, a 64MP main lens, a 13MP ultra-wide lens, and a 5MP depth sensor.
HTC promises to take you into the future with the Desire 22 Pro
The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 695 processor with 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage and a 4,520mAh battery.
The device supports wireless charging and reverse wireless charging, runs Android 12 and is IP67 dustproof and waterproof.
In addition, the device supports 5G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity to stream Vive Flow glasses viewing from your phone and enjoy the virtual world.
The company provides the Viverse mobile application, which allows users to easily access the Metaverse. You can use the Viverse app to create a VIVE virtual image and use the VIVE Wallet to manage your digital assets, including NFTs and more. You can also use Vive Wallet to store cryptocurrencies and make transactions with ease.
The phone costs £399 in the UK and will ship on August 1. Although it costs $400 in Taiwan, it comes in Starry Night Black or Wave Gold. Available from 1 July. The phone comes with a Metaverse Early Bird bundle and Vive Flow goggles for $790.
This approach is reminiscent of Exodus 1, a blockchain phone released in 2018. The 1S exit comes second. But neither phone appears to reflect the capabilities of a smartphone.
HTC's market share fell to less than 0.5% in 2018. In the same year, HTC sold most of its smartphone talent to Google.
The company currently sells very few phones that do not do well in the overall smartphone market share trackers.
