RealityOS hints at the arrival of new Apple glasses |
Earlier this year, the Apple App Store changelog mentioned a platform called RealityOS. This confirms several rumors that the company is developing a new mixed reality headset.
Just a week before the start of the WWDC, RealityOS trademark filing details appeared once again on the Internet.
A little-known company called RealityOS has registered the RealityOS trademark with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
The trademark was filed on December 8, 2021 for categories such as peripherals, software, and laptops.
Thanks to the all-new RealityOS, we may have proof that this new mixed reality headset from Apple may be on the way. There is evidence that this particular brand is associated with the iPhone maker.
Due to the company's secret history with its upcoming products, it uses shell companies to register and patent unreleased products, so they don't have direct contact with Apple at the time of the leak.
For example, one of Apple's front-end companies is Yosemite Research, which the iPhone maker uses to register macOS names like Yosemite and Big Sur.
Last year, just days before WWDC 2021, the company registered the Monterey trademark, which has turned into the official name for macOS 12.
Yosemite Research and Realityo Systems are both registered under the same name as Trust Center Corporation, an original branded service provider of which Apple is a customer.
The same company launched the RealityOS brand in other countries such as Uganda and Uruguay. Realityo Systems also filed a trademark application in Brazil last December, with an application update on May 10, 2022.

Meanwhile, the RealityOS brand has set June 8, 2022 as the deadline for international applications to be submitted to the USPTO, just two days after the WWDC keynote.
The docs also lack any evidence where it was used confirming that RealityOS is related to an unreleased product.
RealityOS may be the name of a new operating system being developed for the company's upcoming augmented and virtual reality devices.
rOS, short for realityOS, was first reported by Bloomberg in 2017 under the internal codename Oak. Apple is rumored to be working on an augmented reality headset and a mixed reality headset.
The Augmented Reality glasses project is still under development. However, a recent Bloomberg report revealed that company executives recently revealed the new headset to the company's board of directors.
This indicates that the product could be announced at WWDC 2022 next week. For the first time since September 2019, the company has invited select media and developers to a special event on June 6.
It is uncertain whether Apple will release the new headphones in June. But it looks like the company is preparing for a big announcement.
