TAG Heuer launches 4th generation luxury smartwatch

Tag Heuer has officially launched the fourth generation of its Connected Caliber E4 series of luxury smartwatches with Wear OS, which offers a faster and more powerful processor, longer battery life, an improved display and additional software features.

Tag Heuer is also bringing back the smaller 42mm size, in addition to the standard 45mm version, which the company didn't offer when it released the Connected Caliber E3 series in 2020.

Externally, the new associated caliber E4 45mm has a slimmer design than the 2020 model, with smaller buttons and a more prominent crown for easier navigation around the watch.

It also has a more traditional design, with a flat sapphire crystal covering the OLED panel and a pricier titanium option.

The 42mm version, on the other hand, is slimmer, with a slimmer chassis and a smaller bezel neatly integrated into the display beneath a domed sapphire crystal.

Tag Heuer has officially launched the fourth generation of luxury smartwatches powered by Wear OS, the Connected Caliber E4 series, which offers a faster and more powerful processor, longer battery life, improved displays, and additional software features.

The watches also have Bluetooth 5.0, a new addition that Tag Heuer says syncs data with smartphones twice as fast as the previous generation.

There's also an altimeter to complement the existing accelerometer, heart rate monitor, compass, and GPS sensors.

Tag Heuer also promises a full day of battery life for both models. There's also a new vertically oriented charger that uses magnets to hold the watch in place and act as a desk clock.

There are some additional system improvements. Tag Heuer is adding comprehensive guided training to its connected smartwatches with a new update.

There's also a bunch of new watch faces that include more data about fitness, sports, weather, and more.

New smartwatches offer better specifications

The connected E4 Caliber does not ship with Wear OS 3, which was jointly developed by Google and Samsung. However, it replaces the current Wear OS 2. Tag Heuer promises to provide free updates in the future when updates become available.

Although it is a smart watch. But the Connected Caliber E4 (like its predecessor) is expensive.

The company plans to start selling the smartwatch on March 10. The 42mm model costs $1800. The 45mm model starts at $2,050 and goes up to $2,550.

Tag Heuer continues its upgrade program, allowing owners of older connected smartwatches to replace it with the new model.

But that's still too expensive for a smartwatch that can become obsolete in 2-3 years.
