Starlink Premium promises 500 Mbit/s |
SpaceX's Starlink satellite internet service gets a new high-performance level called Starlink Premium.
The new service, announced by SpaceX founder Elon Musk, includes a larger and more powerful antenna.
The service advertises speeds of 150-500Mbps (20-40ms latency), which is better than the regular service promises 50-250Mbps (20-40ms latency).
Starlink Premium also claims that download speeds are nearly twice as fast as uploads at 20-40Mbps compared to 10-20Mbps for the regular service.
Starlink Standard costs $499 per device or $99 per month and Starlink Premium costs $2,500 per antenna or $500 per month.
Deliveries are scheduled to begin in the second quarter of this year. There is also a $500 refundable deposit for Starlink Premium dining reservations.
The price of a new product is five times the price of a standard consumer-oriented service.
According to the Starlink website, the new category is aimed at small offices, storefronts, and power users around the world.
Besides the improved speeds, the service promises Starlink Premium will perform better in extreme weather conditions. She also explained that customers get 24/7 support.
Starlink Premium $500 per month
This is the second new satellite dish that Starlink has taken in the last 12 months. In November, the service introduced a rectangular drive that is smaller, lighter and lighter than the company's previous round drives.
The service promotes upgraded hardware, faster speeds, and priority support on offers to potentially demanding customers.
SpaceX says Starlink Premium Antennas have more than twice the capacity of regular Starlink service antennas, providing faster internet speeds and increased productivity for the most demanding users, including businesses.
Starlink Premium also offers unlimited service location flexibility. Unlike standard offers that only guarantee service for specific service addresses, Starlink Premium can connect from anywhere, according to SpaceX.
The site says request and manage as many sites as you want from one account, regardless of their distance.
