OnePlus announces the OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G phone |
The Chinese company, OnePlus, announced its new phone, OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G, which represents the basic specifications of the phone OnePlus Nord 2 rebuilt in a new device, where CE stands for Core Edition, which is a miniature version of the OnePlus Nord 2 5G.
In other words, it is a device that focuses on the basics of a modern smartphone. This means good battery life, fast charging, a fast screen with a refresh rate, and a good camera. There is also a headphone jack.
The new phone uses a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels, OnePlus Nord 2, a 4500 mAh battery, and 65W SuperVOOC fast charging.
However, besides changing the cameras, it also comes with a Dimensity 900 5G chipset that supports 5G networks.
The OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G is a little thinner at 7.8mm but can add a headphone jack and microSD card slot, both of which the OnePlus Nord 2 lacks.
On the back is the redesigned camera department, with a 64MP main lens, along with an 8MP wide and 2MP macro lens. The OnePlus Nord 2 has a 16MP selfie camera instead of a 32MP selfie camera.
The new OnePlus cell phone costs 349 euros
Mediatek's Dimensity 900 chipset is paired with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM. While the internal storage is set at 128GB, you can expand it via the microSD slot.
On the software side, the phone runs Android 11 and OxygenOS 11.3 UI. The device gets two years of Android updates and three years of security updates.
The OnePlus Nord CE 2 5G is available in Mirror Gray and Bahama Blue. The price of the 6/128 GB version reaches 349 euros. India put up for sale on February 22, Europe on March 10.
It should be noted that OnePlus has changed a lot. The brand initially released one flagship phone annually at a much lower price than its more popular competitors. But this has changed recently.
The company now has several flagship smartphones like OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro that are priced similarly to the competition. It also offers a range of mid-range smartphones at affordable prices under its Nord brand.
Another change OnePlus has seen over the years is the rapprochement with Oppo, another brand from parent company BBK Electronics.
