Lenovo brings Snapdragon processors to ThinkPad

Lenovo has released a number of ThinkPads including the new ThinkPad X13s Gen 1, the new ThinkPad X1 Extreme, ThinkPad T14, ThinkPad T14s and even new P series laptops and two ThinkBooks.

The new ThinkPad X13s is the first ThinkPad to use a Snapdragon processor. It is the first computer to use Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3.

This means you get a long battery life of up to 28 hours, according to Lenovo.

Qualcomm has also announced AI improvements, including auto focus, auto white balance, and auto exposure for video calls.

It also comes with optional 5G connectivity and is one of the few laptops that supports mmWave and Sub-6 technology.

The company said it was waiting for the time to come. While the company was quick to adopt Windows with ARM processors compatible with all generations, it wasn't so quick to install a Snapdragon processor in the ThinkPad.

But the performance of the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 3 has come a long way, and now that 64-bit applications can be emulated on ARM in Windows 11, there aren't many compatibility issues left.

The rest of the laptop features a 13.3-inch screen with an aspect ratio of 16:10. It also comes with a 5MP webcam.

That includes AI-powered auto framing and intelligent noise-canceling, which Qualcomm demonstrated at the Snapdragon Summit in December.

Various parts of the case also contain recycled materials, including the top and bottom cap, 90% of which is recycled magnesium.

ThinkPad X13s will be available in May with prices starting at $1,099.

The company has also updated the ThinkPad X1 Extreme Workstation with a 12th generation Intel Core i9 H-series processor that supports the Intel vPro platform. It also debuts with a 165Hz display option and 16:10 aspect ratio (4K resolution also available).

The T and P series feature 16:10 aspect ratio screens and Full HD cameras at all levels. There are new Intel processors. The T series also includes AMD's Ryzen Pro 6000 chipset, and both lines come in 14-inch and 16-inch models.

The ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 5 will be available in June with a starting price of $2,049. Intel-powered ThinkPad T14, T14 and T16 devices will be available in April, June and April. Starting at $1,399, $1,529 and $1,419.

AMD-powered models start at $1,299, $1,399, and $1,299 in June and May, respectively. The ThinkPad P14 and P16 were available in April, and they both start at $1,419.
