Apple hosts a Peek Performance event on March 8 |
Apple announced its upcoming event on March 8, and the invitations featured the "Peek Performance" logo and the company's multicolored logo, which hints at the colors of the new device.
The event will be broadcast live and from Apple Park. Anyone can see it on the company's website.
The company did not provide any other details about the fallout from the virtual event, except for the time set for Thursday 9:00 pm KST. But rumors have it that the company may release several more devices later this year.
Bloomberg reporter Mark Gorman, a frequent and reliable source for Apple rumors, has speculated that the company could launch a cheaper iPhone SE.
Gorman suggested that the new device will arrive with support for 5G networks, a faster A15 processor, and better cameras.
However, it shares the same design as the current iPhone SE, which means the new SE will likely keep Touch ID as well.
Apple could launch a new iPhone SE
At the same time, Gorman also speculated that the company might release the latest iPad Air. The new tablet is expected to have a new processor and support for 5G networks in cellular models.
Gorman also anticipates that the company could also release a new iOS 15.4 update that would allow Face ID to unlock iPhones and iPads while wearing a mask.
Universal Control is also expected to appear in the new update. This means that users can use a single keyboard and mouse across multiple iPads and Macs.
The company has reportedly updated its entire line of Macs to replace Intel processors with its own. Another Mac with a chip developed by Apple is rumored to arrive in March. However, the device may not be announced during this special event.
We may also not see the new iPhone 14 models, AirPods, Apple Watch, MacBook Air, iMac and Mac Pro due out later in 2022.
