Apple has a new MacBook Pro for beginners |
When Apple updated its MacBook Pro lineup last fall, the entry-level model wasn't as up-to-date as its siblings.
Apple is preparing to release several new Macs in 2022 as the company nears completing a two-year transition plan from Intel to its own chips.
Since then, there have been rumors that the company is working on a new version of the computer that might include the upcoming M2 chip.
Thanks to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gorman, we now have a better idea of what the company can expect from the computer, which is set to replace the current M1 model due for release in November 2020.
In the latest issue of the Power On newsletter, Gorman said he expects the entry-level model to follow its siblings and ditch the Touch Bar.
He pointed out that the computer will likely not include ProMotion 2021 MacBook Pro display technology, which means that it will not support variable refresh rates of up to 120 Hz for smoother scrolling.
It also seems like a mini LED backlight is out of the question. So don't expect the base model's screen to be as bright as the screens on other models.
Additionally, the internal storage space is another area where you may need to bargain when deciding to purchase a new model. According to Gorman, Apple plans to release at least four Macs equipped with the M2 system in 2022.
"I want the new entry-level MacBook Pro to match the high-end MacBook Pro because it doesn't have a Touch Bar," the reporter said. But perhaps the main difference is the screen, processor and less storage space. No PromoMotion or miniLED
New Apple devices will come with M2 chipset later this year
The company is said to be preparing to update the MacBook Air, 24-inch iMac, and entry-level Mac mini. To accommodate the latest version of the company's processor.
It was also reported to run on a 27-inch iMac Pro with M1 Pro and M1 Max chipsets.
Gorman did not say when Apple users expect the company to unveil new MacBook Pro models. We probably won't see a PC at the company's next hardware event.
In a separate report previously released, Gorman said the company plans to hold an event in early March. According to reports, the company could launch the new iPhone SE and iPad Air soon.
