You can use Pinterest to reply to comments with videos |
Pinterest has become the newest social media platform, providing an option for users to respond to comments via video.
Users can now achieve this with the company's Idea Pins feature. It launched Pinterest Idea Pins earlier this year, allowing creators to save and edit videos with up to 20 pages of content. Use tools like recording, background music, transitions, and other interactive elements.
Now when users find a comment they want to reply to, they can select the three-dot menu and tap on it to reply with a creative pin. From there you can record a new video or upload an existing video.
In a blog post announcing new features, the platform said: There are more ways to connect with your community on Pinterest than ever before. You can now respond to all comments, questions and inquiries with a dedicated Idea Pin Reply. We want to protect you from lengthy answers and narrative texts, because some content is better when viewed.
The new Pinterest feature was launched a few days after Instagram launched a similar feature. Later last week, Instagram introduced the Reels Visual Replies feature, which allows users to use Reels to respond to comments on posts.
Now when users want to respond to a comment, they will see a new option that allows them to select the scroll button to create a response to the video.

It is worth noting that the idea of video responses was first promoted by Tik Tok. This short video platform introduced Video Answers last year, which allows users to provide more general information about their videos and answer questions.
Given the popularity of this feature, it is not surprising that Instagram and Pinterest offer similar features to their platforms.
In the past few months, Pinterest has introduced many new features to creators. The company has also invested in video and content creation tools by acquiring Vochi, a video authoring and editing app, for an undisclosed amount.
Pinterest has also introduced a new way for users to allow users to browse Idea Pin videos like TikTok under the Watch tab and encourage engagement with a $20 million creator reward.
The introduction of these features shows that Pinterest is interested in remaking itself for the TikTok era by copying TikTok features and then adding their fingerprints.
