Adidas enters the world of Metaverse and NFT |
Adidas has entered the world of non-fungible tokens (NFTs). The apparel company has launched a line of NFT products called Into the Metaverse that allows shoppers to join a very special kind of fan club.
NFT holders can purchase special products for sale. According to Adidas, membership helps shape the different products and experiences that the company brings together for the NFT-owned community.
“Adidas is entering the world of the Metaverse,” said the company's senior director of digital growth. We want to see what can best be done in this area and start to engage the community and give our opinion on how we perform in the virtual world.
It was launched two weeks after the company ridiculed its cryptocurrency and introduction fest. The company launched a digital token last month that gives owners early access to NFT Drop.
A couple of weeks ago I started talking vaguely about the Metaverse on Twitter. Adidas also acquired Bored Ape. The company named the monkey Indigo Hertz and provided him with custom-branded sportswear.
NFT goes on sale on the company's website on December 17 for 0.2 ETH, or about $800.
The company declined to reveal how many NFTs it sold, citing a guarantee contract. He also declined to disclose whether the company had earned any income from reselling NFT.
The company is also unable to share images or descriptions of the NFT family of products called Into the Metaverse.
NFT shoppers can access both digital and physical adidas products and experiences. Physical merchandise initially included Indigo Hertz tracksuits, a blockchain-themed headgear, and an orange hat.
This work was co-produced with three employees: Bored Ape Yacht Club, Punks Comics, and GMoney. The GMoneys CryptoPunks avatar must wear a hat.
Buyers get physical and digital benefits from adidas
We can also offer other experiences,” said Vice President of Marketing, Adidas Originals. The goal of NFT is to make you a community. We will continue to increase this value over time. This changes and evolves with the way we change and develop the company.
The creators of Project NFT tell you that the true value of tokens is to build a community around them and create a roadmap for delivering new experiences. Adidas seems to have borrowed this method.
The company has many options here. Street fashion lovers competed for limited sales of products.
The company has an app called Confirmed to sell special products. The NFT line of products called Into the Metaverse offers a new and perhaps even more unique way to offer these types of products.
Also, one of the main perks of owning an NFT Bored Ape Yacht Club so far has been access to exclusive merchandise like hats and wraps that are reselling on eBay for hundreds of dollars more than the retail price.
From this perspective, it's only a matter of time before real street fashion brands step in. Perhaps others will join them soon.
