Nvidia has a platform for creating avatars using artificial intelligence |
NVIDIA has announced a new platform called Omniverse Avatar, which uses artificial intelligence to create avatars.
The platform combines several standalone technologies such as speech recognition, artificial voice, face tracking, 3D animation, computer vision, natural language understanding, recommendation engines, and simulation technologies, which the company claims can be used to create virtual proxy wallets.
Omniverse Avatar opens the door to creating AI assistants that can be easily customized in almost any industry.
It can help process billions of daily interactions with customer service, restaurant orders, banking transactions, appointments, personal reservations, etc., increase business opportunities and improve customer satisfaction.
At the annual GTC conference, the company's CEO presented some examples via Omniverse Avatar: Project Tokyo for customer support, DRIVE Concierge AI for smart vehicle service, and Project Maxine for video conferencing.
At Project Tokyo's first presentation, he highlighted a customer service avatar at a restaurant booth able to see, speak, and understand two customers ordering veggie burgers, fries, and drinks.
The character uses face-tracking technology to maintain eye contact with customers and respond to their facial expressions. Regarding this technology, the company said it will be useful in smart retail and customer service.
In Project Tokyo's second presentation, an animated version of the company's CEO answered questions on topics such as climate change and protein production.
In the third demo, someone was using their realistic animated avatar on a conference call. The caller is dressed casually in the crowded cafe. But her standard avatar is elegantly dressed and speaks without background noise.
This example is based on Nvidia's Maxine project for video conferencing. Your goal is to solve common video conferencing problems (such as
Do you want to fill the virtual and physical world with avatars?
In a demonstration of the DRIVE Concierge AI platform. The digital assistant on the center display of the dashboard can help the driver determine the best driving position to reach his destination on time. Then set a reminder if the vehicle's odometer reading is less than 100 miles, as required.
The company explained during the presentation that the response time of the avatar is two seconds, which is slower than humans. If the customer is in a hurry, setbacks will inevitably occur.
The release of Avatar Omniverse is part of the vision of the company called NVIDIA Omniverse. It is a platform for virtual world simulation and collaboration for 3D workflows. It is currently in public beta and has more than 70,000 users.
Like Metaverse, Omniverse is primarily about a shared virtual world that enables remote collaboration. But compared to the vision proposed by the owner of Facebook Meta. NVIDIA doesn't care about turning your office meetings into virtual reality. Even more interesting is the use of virtual environments to mimic industrial environments and create avatars that interact with people in the physical world.
