Netflix is testing a Tik Tok-style feed for kids |
According to Bloomberg News, Netflix will start rolling out a TikTok-like feature for kids this week. This is the latest attempt to get younger viewers to use his platform and help them discover the show.
Kids Clips appears on the platform's iOS app, which contains short videos from the company's kids' shows and movie library. Netflix plans to add new clips daily based on its current and future shows.
The streaming giant is experimenting with new features that will allow customers to feature more games on its roster. This step is also an attempt to reach the types of viewers who usually watch Tik Tok or short videos on YouTube.
The platform calls this work Test and builds on a first feature called Fast Laughs, which highlights comedic editing.
Fast Laughs started earlier this year. The company has also created a leaderboard for its most popular games. This gives users another way to find deals they might be interested in.
Kids Clips uses an interface similar to TikTok or Instagram Reels to deliver kid-friendly content. Kids can watch 10-20 clips at a time.
Kids Clips yarn is similar to Fast Laughs yarn. However, the video is rendered horizontally rather than vertically to take up the entire screen.

These two functions have a similar purpose, which is to use short videos similar to those users watch on social networks to promote content on the platform.

Netflix listed TikTok as its main competitor in its previous financial report. This shows that these features are designed to engage users by focusing on shorter content.
The feature rolled out this week in the Spanish-speaking countries of the United States and Latin America. Except for markets such as Canada, Australia and Ireland.
After iOS developer Steve Moser discovered a new feature in hidden code, the company confirmed the launch of the new feature.
